Cheung Tops Ballot to Boast Record-Breaking Gains from 2009
Cambridge, Massachusetts – City Councillor Leland Cheung won re-election to a second term and made history as the only incumbent to finish first after a close ninth place victory in 2009, according to the final election results released Friday. Cheung topped the ballet with 2,017 number one votes, almost triple his 2009 results, and secured his seat with over 400 extra votes.

Cheung to Discuss "Shattering the Bamboo Ceiling" at 25th Annual
NAAAP Convention
Cambridge-- City Councillor Leland Cheung will join State Representative Tackey Chan, California State Senator Ted Lieu and Boston City Council candidate Suzanne Lee for a panel discussion about the rise of Asian Americans in politics at the annual National Association of Asian American Professionals (NAAAP) 25th national convention on Friday, August 12. Previously Cheung served as the Executive Vice President of NAAAP, a position that allowed him to aid in furthering Asian American representation in top ranking jobs.

JULY 1, 2011 - IN ONE DAY RECORD, CITY COUNCILLOR CHEUNG MEETS SIGNATURE DEADLINE NEEDED TO GET ON THE NOVEMBER 8TH BALLOT.
CAMBRIDGEThis past Friday, City Councillor Leland Cheung spent the day talking with Cambridge residents and collected a hundred signatures required to get on the ballot as his re-election campaign surged forward. The Cambridge Election Commission made nomination papers available at 8:30 AM Friday morning. Councillor Cheung was the first candidate to pick up nomination papers. Leland and his campaign volunteers spent the day talking with Cambridge residents on a mission to collect the signatures required to get on ballot for the election on November 8th.
