20 Local Government Officials to Follow on Twitter & Why

At times, it often seems difficult to have a voice in today’s political arena. But thanks to social media the landscape is changing, and more voters have the chance to directly interact with our political leaders. Lucky for us, many of Massachusetts’ and Boston’s political leaders have created Twitter accounts, offering a look inside their day-to-day lives. Regardless of where your political affiliations may lie, here are 20 government officials worth following.

 

 

 

 

Mayor Tom Menino (@mayortommenino) – Tweets about his programs as well as events going on in the city.

Felix Arroyo, At-large City Councilor (@FelixArroyo) – Responds to his followers, tweets about where he is around town. He’s following Charlie Sheen on Twitter, so you know he has a sense of humor.

Ayanna Pressley, At-large City Councilor (@AyannaPressley) – Tweets her whereabouts around town and is great about pointing followers in the right direction get their voices heard.

John Connolly, At-large City Councilor (@JohnRConnolly) – Tweeting about his campaign trail and bills he supports, as well as what he’s up to around the city.
